— Know my approach
Therapy Philosophy
At Know Me Well, we believe that at the heart of your soul and mine, we desire to know ourselves well. We want to give meaning, value and purpose to our actions, thoughts and emotions. We want more.
We long to understand…
- “I want to know why I keep feeling defeated and stuck”
- “I want to know why I keep falling back into a toxic relationship and can’t stop”
- “I want to know why dad left us when we were young. Maybe I’m not worth loving, if everyone just leaves me”
- “I want to know why it feels lonely and empty, even though others think I am successful”
- “I want to know how to stop drinking until I’m numb, even when I hate the taste of alcohol in my mouth”…etc.
In the same breath of wanting to know ourselves better, we long to be known by another being that feels right, safe, and calming. We may hide ourselves from others but deep down, we want to be seen, heard and understood well.
I hold this philosophy deeply as I join you into therapy. To know you and explore your world. To offer clarity, perspective, safety, and hope as a foundation of healing.
I help to shine a spotlight on yourself; your strengths and character because I believe you have the capacity to self-right, grow, and flourish even in the darkest hours.
